Many students in California are thankful that they have career colleges as an option, since so many colleges and universities in the state are having budget issues. The lack of funding to California colleges and universities has created a reduction in the number of students these schools can accommodate. There are also wait lists at many universities and colleges in California, which are complicating matters as students just want to become accepted so they can further their education. Career Colleges Benefiting From Crisis at California Colleges
Friday, March 5th, 2010Wait Lists Will Reduce UC and CSU Enrollment
Thursday, March 4th, 2010Not only are wait lists at CSU and UC campuses controlling student enrollment while they deal with budget issues, but they also continue to frustrate students and send them away to other colleges or universities. This act would require schools in the University of California and California State University systems to have a 180-day waiting period between when a tuition or fee increase is approved, and when it goes into effect. It also looks to limit fee increases to no more than 10% per year, which would be a step to help curb the rapid increase which California colleges have experienced lately. (more…)
