California college students at UC and CSU schools in places like San Diego and Los Angeles often make Mexico their top pick for spring break trips as they can drive down or fly in very quickly. However things in Mexico are a bit hectic lately, which has caused the U.S. State Department to issue a general warning regarding travel to Mexico. Last weekend there was an incident and three people who are associated with the U.S. consulate were shot down in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. There were also two children which were reported to be injured due to this shooting in Mexico. The city of Ciudad Juarez has long been known for violence, often associated with drug cartels which are notorious for killings throughout Mexico. (more…)
