UC Davis is not traditionally known for being a big party school, and is rarely in the news for things getting out of control with California college students in and around campus. Researchers at Stanford Generate Electricity From Algae
April 16th, 2010A group of Stanford engineers have figured out a way to generate small amounts of electricity via individual algae cells. Currently this research is in the very early stages as the scientists work with only single cells (for now) to master the techniques of how to best harvest the electrons during the photosynthesis process. However, those students who were put on the wait list do not seem too apt to wait around and see what happens. They seem to be more comfortable picking one of the other California college or universities that accepted them, or possibly going to school out of state. Read the rest of this entry »
