Many California colleges have hotels near campus, but not many have an actual hotel on campus for people to utilize when visiting. UC Davis is making the news as it debuts the first ever hotel to be located on campus grounds. The Hyatt Place UC Davis, is the start of a new standard of hotels for the Hyatt Chain, as they partnered with the college to provide a great hotel experience to the guests. This project has been almost ten years in the making, but it is finally open to the public at 173 Old Davis Road Extension. The amazing 75-room hotel offers a 24-hour guest kitchen for all guests, as well as a lounge area.
Strategically located just off of I-80 near the public entrance to UC Davis, Hyatt Place will attract a variety of business and leisure travelers. This will also be a popular spot for friends and family of UC Davis students, staff, and faculty who are visiting the area. Since the Hyatt Place is adjacent to the UC Davis Conference Center, it is expected to be a very popular hotel for the region. Another reason why it will be popular includes the 42-inch HDTV’s which are available in every room at the Hyatt Place UC Davis. There is also 1,200 square feet of meeting space offered at the hotel, which is a great addition for overflow that the UC Davis Conference Center may encounter. All of the feedback so far has been very positive about the Hyatt Place UC Davis, as people are excited to have another great hotel option in the city.
